This holiday season brings three big events.
All three involve driving
our Porsches and good times with fellow members. So come
on out and
join in the fun!
1) Toys for Tots Motorcade in Waikiki:
One of the most worthwhile events PCA-Hawaii participates
in all year. We will assemble near Magic Island at Ala Moana
Beach Park at 9 a.m. on Sunday, November 25, depart
at 10 a.m. with virtually every car club on Oahu in
a motorcade down Kalakaua Avenue, and deliver our unwrapped
toys to the Marine Corps Reserve at the Waikiki Shell. Canned
goods are also appreciated. Brunch afterwards at the Elks
Club. Santa will be on hand. Fun for keiki and the whole
family.
Contact: SSgt. Ruben Villarrel 257-1077 ex. 233
2) Drivers Education / Car Control
Clinic at Hawaii Raceway Park: PCA-Hawaii
will host a driving event at Hawaii Raceway Park on
Sunday, December 2. The event will run from 9 to
5 p.m. and consist of car control exercises in the morning
and practicing the lessons learned in the afternoon on the
track short course. The Hawaii International Racing
School will be our contractor and provide the instructors.
This training is expected to provide the initial instruction
for the BMW Clubs Aloha 500 to be held
on February 2, 2002. It also stands alone as a good clinic
on driving a high-performance automobile. The cost will
be $125 for the day using your car.
For more information call Mike Cripps, 239-8506.
3) H-3 Run & Christmas Party: The Christmas
party is looking good. On Sunday, December 9, well
meet at the makai end of Lagoon Drive at 3 p.m. and reprise
the ever-popular H-3 run to Kaneohe, ending up at Pohai
Nani (45-090 Namoku St) for a 4 p.m. hosted champagne reception
among the cars. Dinner will be at 5 p.m. and includes tossed
salad, fruit platter, prime rib au jus, catch of the day
fish (shoyu/citrus), baked potato, broccoli, rice, and choice
of dessert. All this costs you $25 and includes the champagne.
You might want to bring a bottle of wine to share with your
table. We will have the usual drawing for prizes. Please
make your commitment now and mail the $25 per person payable
to PCA-Hawaii. Time is approaching and we have to
commit to our numbers.
Send checks to: Mike Cripps, 47-724J Ahuimanu Loop, Kaheohe,
